✦ DIRECT PRIMARY CARE FOR EMPLOYERS

Your renewal went up again. Your people still can’t get an appointment.

Both problems come from the same place. Everyday care runs through insurance claims, so it costs more than it should and gets harder to reach every year. Amara Health takes everyday care out of the claims stream. One flat monthly fee. What it buys isn’t coverage. It’s access: a doctor your employees can actually reach, and nothing due at the door.

Complimentary 15-minute visit · No charge
THE ARITHMETIC OF ACCESS

The math your broker never shows you

The average family premium for job-based coverage hit $26,993 in 2025 — up 6% in a single year.* Here’s what that money buys your people: the average American primary care doctor carries about 2,300 patients.** At that volume, the ten-minute visit isn’t a failure of caring — it’s the business model. Your employees feel it as three-week waits, rushed appointments, and small problems that turn into ER visits.

Amara’s physicians care for a limited number of patients. That arithmetic is the entire model. Fewer patients per doctor means same-day appointments, visits that aren’t rushed, and someone who knows your employee’s name when they call. Fewer patients per doctor. More doctor per patient. Employers now fund 60% of active direct primary care memberships.*** Not because it’s fashionable. Because the math works.

COMPREHENSIVE PRIMARY CARE

What your employees actually get

Not a discount card. Not a nurse hotline. A doctor.

✦
Unlimited visits.

Sick visits, follow-ups, or “something feels off” — no copay, ever.

✦
Same-day or next-day appointments.

When something’s wrong, they’re seen now — not in three weeks.

✦
Their doctor’s direct line.

They call — somebody who knows their name answers. Not a phone tree.

✦
A real annual physical.

Unhurried and thorough, built around prevention instead of box-checking.

✦
Chronic conditions, managed.

Blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid — ongoing care with the same physician, not a rotating cast.

✦
Prescriptions, not a pharmacy.

Amara’s physicians prescribe what employees need — the practice doesn’t carry or dispense medications. Employees fill prescriptions at their own pharmacy.

✦
In-office procedures.

Stitches, skin biopsies, joint injections, EKGs — done here, not referred out at specialist prices.

✦
Specialists, coordinated.

When a specialist is truly needed, we call them ourselves, brief them on your employee, and follow up afterward.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

What it does to your costs

Most of what your people need in a year is primary care. When it runs through insurance, every visit becomes a claim—and claims drive up your renewal costs.

Membership takes that entire category out of the claims stream. Your insurance is left doing what insurance is genuinely for: the hospital stay and the surgery.

That gives you two good options. Keep your current plan and add care your people will actually use. Or price a higher-deductible plan for the big stuff, which usually costs less once everyday care is handled here. Either way, you don’t have to redesign your entire benefits package to give your team better access to primary care.

INDEPENDENT EVIDENCE

The published research behind it

  • 25.5% fewer hospital admissions, about 40% fewer ER visits, and 12.6% lower risk-adjusted claims costs (Society of Actuaries/Milliman, May 2020 — one midsize employer, two-year study).
  • In one validated employer case study: 31% lower per-employee spending over three years, with a 3:1 return (Validation Institute, February 2026).
One honest note: Those are published studies, not our numbers. We’ll show you our model and our math. We won’t dress it up.
CLEAR BOUNDARIES

Membership is not insurance.

This is not insurance, and it doesn’t replace your company’s health plan. Keep that plan for hospital care, specialists, prescriptions, and the emergency room — for you and your people.

Membership pays for something else entirely: time, access, and coordination. A physician with room for your people. Same-day appointments. A direct line that’s answered. That’s the entire product — and it’s the one thing the current system can’t sell you at any price.

TRANSPARENT GROUP PRICING

One flat fee. About $3 a day.

$89 per employee per month — roughly $3 per employee per day. Less than the coffee run. No “contact us for pricing.”

EMPLOYER RATE
$ 89 / employee / month
~$3 / DAY Per enrolled team member

One monthly invoice for the whole team

No claims to file. No explanations of benefits to decode. Prefer to skip the invoice? We can keep a company credit card on file and charge it monthly. You’ll always get prior notice of charges.

You choose how much to cover

All of it, part of it, or offer it as a voluntary benefit at our group rate — you decide what structure makes sense for your business.

Month to month freedom

If someone leaves, you stop paying for them immediately. You’re never locked into an inflexible annual administrative contract.

Start any time of year

Direct primary care is not tied to open enrollment calendars or traditional health benefit plan renewal cycles.

WHAT $89 BUYS

Everything in Amara’s Essential membership ($129/mo value), at the $89 group rate — which is to say: more access for every employee. Adult family members may join at standard individual rates.

TAX COMPLIANCE

What about HSAs?

Federal law changed on January 1, 2026. A qualifying direct primary care arrangement no longer disqualifies an otherwise eligible person from contributing to an HSA. Qualifying fees can be paid from the HSA itself. The 2026 limit is $150 per month per person ($300 for family coverage). At $89, Amara clears it with room to spare. (IRS Notice 2026-05. Your benefits or tax adviser has the final word on your specific plan.)

NO CURRENT PLAN?

Don’t have group insurance at all?

If you’re too small for a group plan — or the quotes made you laugh out loud — this is still a real benefit. For many small businesses, direct primary care is the first health benefit they’ve ever been able to offer. A doctor their people can actually see, for a flat monthly fee they can actually budget. No insurance required.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions business owners ask

Is this health insurance?

No. Membership is not insurance — it’s a membership with their doctor. What it buys is more access: everyday primary care, with a physician who has room for them. Hospital stays, surgeries, and specialists still need insurance or a health share alongside it. We’ll tell you plainly what it doesn’t cover — that’s part of the deal.

Do our employees still need insurance?

For the big events, yes. Most employers pair this with a high-deductible plan, which usually costs less once everyday care is handled here.

Can we start mid-year?

Yes — any time. It’s not tied to open enrollment.

What if we only have a handful of employees?

Groups start at four. If you’re smaller than that, talk to us anyway — we’ll tell you honestly what fits.

Will our employees actually use it?

That’s the right question, because this only saves money if people come in. That’s why access is the product: same-day appointments and a doctor who answers the phone.

What if an employee needs a specialist?

We coordinate it. Our physicians call the specialist themselves, brief them on your employee, and follow up afterward. Your employee isn’t left making calls on their own.

Do you handle prescriptions?

Our physicians prescribe what employees need, as the practice doesn’t carry or dispense medications. Employees fill prescriptions at the pharmacy of their choice.
